Another small airline that had big dreams of becoming a major player in the field but failed.
ACCESSAIR ,following the footsteps of Western Pacific and COS, wanted to turn Des Moines (DSM) into a major hub in Middle America and providing for its customers a seamless service from the East to West coast and from North to South (this last part will never materialize though) with an intermediate stop in Des Moines International Airport.

The 5 most popular destinations were Chicago (both ORD and MDW airports) : 429,452 passengers, Saint Louis : 320,763 passengers , Denver 246,101 passengers, Minneapolis-St. Paul: 173,156 passengers and Dallas : 132,519 passengers.
Founded in 1998, the company launched its operations from DSM in February 1999 with a fleet of Boeing737-200 (which was the preferred airliner of newly established low cost airlines). Extremely low factors coupled with mounting losses forced the company to stop its operations in November 1999, merely 9 months after the beginning of services. a short revival was attempted in 2000 but it was headed to failure. The fleet of the company consisted of 4 Boeing 737-200 with a 117 passenger configuration :

As mentioned above, flights were launched to Los Angeles, and New York (La Guardia) Via Moline and Peoria .
The month of June sees the launch of new service to Colorado Springs which is extended to Los Angeles
The month of July witnesses the halt of the DSM-LAX service replaced by increased frequencies on the DSM-COS-LAX route .
August sees an expansion, as the direct DSM-LAX is re-instated and 3 other routes are appearing COS-PIA and COS-MLI and MLI-PIA
DSM-LGA will be the last route , the company inaugurates in its last month of operation.
The company in its 9 month of existence carried 201,911 passengers to 7 destinations with a load factor of 43.4% The network reached 7653 miles
