HIMALAYA AIRLINES








HIMALAYA AIRLINES is a joint venture between Nepalese interests (Yeti Airlines group) and Chinese ones (Tibet Airlines). The company was founded on the ashes of the defunct FLYYETI as an attempt by YETI AIRLINES to establish a second Interntional Nepalese airlines to compete with incumbent NEPAL AIRLINES

HIMALAYA AIRLINES is based at Tribhuvan International Airport

The company Undertook its first flight from Kathmandu to Doha on May 31.2016  with an Airbus A320

The company was the first Nepalese airlin to resume services to Colombo after a hiatus of 28 years on  October 1. 2016.In February 2017, it launched a direct route to Yangon to strengthen and develop both the economic and religious links between the 2 countries as more than 25,000 nationals of Myanmar visited Nepal for religious reasons.

The same month saw the establishment of a direct link to Kuala Lumpur

In April 2017 , the company started  daily flights to Dubai .

In September 2017, the company opened a new route to Dammam, Yangon is discarded from the network 

The company expects to operated a fleet of 15 Airbus A320 to connect KTM to various points in Asia and beyond . Further plans include the introduction of the A330 to flights to Europe, Australia, the Far east and hopefully North America

The current fleet consists of 3 Airbus 320 fitted with  180Y seats.

In 2022, Himalaya Airlines celebrates its 7th anniversary . The aviation industry was plagued with covid19 crisis and the company was grounded until March 2020. and carried repatriation flights .
Flights to China (Beijing, Shenzhen, Guiyang, Chongqing and Changsha)) launched during the Visit Nepal touristic campaign were canceled.
In addition to the above 3 Airbus A320, the company has leased an AIRBUS A319-115 from Tibet Airlines (9N-AJK)  and is fitted with 8C and 120Y
In 2019, an ownership  restructuring occurred where TIBET AIRLINES stake (49%) was transferred to the Tibet Civil Aviation Development and Investment, together with a change in the livery the, blue, dark blue and white blend was changed to orange and blue combination.

The company flies to Dubai (daily), Doha  (5 per week), Kuala Lumpur ( 4 per week), Riyadh (2 per week), Dammam (daily) Dhaka ( 3 per week)  and cargo flight to Kunming (2 per week) offering 5040 seats out of Kathmandu
