FLYNAS
We celebrate in 2017 the 10th anniversary of FLYNAS as the company started operations on February 18,2007 when it flew its first segment from Jeddah to Riyadh.
The company was first known as NAS Air and is based in SAUDI ARABIA. It is the unique low cost airline in the Kingdom . The company was re-branded as FLYNAS in November 2013 ...NAS meaning in colloquial Arabic People

The company started with a very limited network serving 5 cities : Jeddah, Medina, Gizan and Gurayat from Riyadh.

Under this act, GACA granted licenses to budget carriers to operate in the Kingdom, and set mandatory destinations to be served by each airline. In this light, part of the domestic routes operated by Saudi Arabian airline like Dammam, Tabuk, Abha, Gassim, Hail among others, will gradually move to NAS AIR, and Saudia will stop serving these destinations as of October 28th 2007.

However most of these routes failed to attract passengers to make them viable and the company had to scale down its operations in 2008 . 2008 marks also a turning point in the history of the new company as first International services were launched to Beirut, Abu Dhabi, Alexandria and Sharjah as illustrated in this map
The company along its A320, introduces the Embraer 190 to cater low density routes and the newly opened international destinations.
2009 sees the addition of Kuwait served from Riyadh, Damman from Riyadh and Jeddah , Damascus from Jeddah and a new domestic segment Gassim-Rafha operated as a dog leg segment Riyadh-Gassim-Rafha-Riyadh
2010 will bring new international destinations. By February 2010, Latakia , Assiout, Sharm el sheikh , Kuwait and Sanah are joining the network of NAS Air as illustrated in this map.The international network covers 24246 km whereas the domestic network (see below) covers 7866 km
By December 2010 Khartoum, Dubai, Delhi, Aleppo, Mumbai, Cochin and Calicut will joi the international netwok of the company. Unfortunately , local services to Hail, Tabuk, Gassim, Al Qaisumah, Hail, Rafha , Wadi al Dawasir and Taif will be curtailed.

2011, the new year will see an expansion of the International network to include Istanbul, Islamabad, Sohag, Hatay , Lahore, Karachi while eliminating loss making destinations such as Delhi, Abu Dhabi, Cochin and Sanah
2012 Luxor and Peshawar are newly added international destinations.The company signs a code share agreement with Etihad where Flynas places its code on a number of flights operated by Etihad that radiate from Abu Dhabi
2013 Taif and Yanbu are re-introduced .Syrian destinations are eliminated from the company's network due to the escalating civil war in the country
2014 Aswan is the new Egyptian destination of the company launched on 15/01/2014 and Medina Khartoum is a new link inaugurated on Feb 12, 2014The company launches an ambitious international expansion program "New Global Program" aiming at connecting the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to major international points in the Islamic world. To this effect , the company leases A330 from Hi-FLY and other sources and starts flying from Jeddah to :
Kuala Limpur,Karachi,Lahore, Gatwick,Manchester,Jakarta Casablanca all 3 times a week , whereas Islamabad saw a twice weekly service. Alas , the program did not yield the expected result and folded by 15/10/ 2014.Al Qassim was introduced on 16/10/2014

2015 It is back to the basic for the company . If Beirut services are discontinued and services to Gizan and Abha are momentarily suspended due to the Yemeni conflict, that does not stop the company to launch Cairo-Riyadh services on April 30,2015 as well as Dubai-Madinah . It starts flying to Bahrain on December 1,2015 from both Riyadh and Jeddah.The company transports 5.53 Mio passengers
2016 The network of the company present the following picture in October 2016. The company had already launched in March 2016, Riyadh-Gurayat, and Riyadh-Al jouf and In May 2016 Riyadh Al Baha.
Flights from Abha to Al baja, Bisha, Gizam and Wadi el dawaser will begin on November 1.2016 followed on November 10 by Damman-al Baha and a new international link Istanbul (SAW) to Medinah on November 16.
Damman to Abu Dhabi will commence on December 05,2016. On October 16,2016 a code share agreement is signed between Pegasus Airlines and Fly NAS. In 2016, the company carried 6.3 Mio passengers a 14% increase over 2015.
2017
The company places an order for 120 Airbus Neos (80 firm+40 options) to be delivered between 2018 and 2026. among the new routes launched in 2017 (firs: Riyadh-Bish, Jeddah-Yanbu and Abha-Sharurah (in January 2017) and Abha-Gassim in May 2017

FLEET
The current fleet consists mainly of 26 Airbus A320 fitted with 8 Business class seats and 156 economy class seats and has placed an order for 80 airbus A320Neo. but has used a variety of different planes
