We celebrate in 2019 the 10th anniversary of the foundation
of NILE AIR
NILE AIR is a joint
stock Egyptian company under the provisions of the Investment
law 8 of 1997. 40% of the stock is held by Dr. Nasser
Al Tayyar, former President of Al Tayyar Group, a prominent travel agency based
in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with operations in over 15 countries. Together with scheduled
flights, the airline operates charter and seasonal flights especially to Kuwait from Luxor
The initial plan according to "Routes on Line" was
to operate a 2 weekly flight Cairo -Baghdad and a weekly triangle route Cairo-Erbil-Suleymaniah-Cairo. This plan did
not come into fruition and the company launched flights on March 23, 2011 to
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a leased Airbus A320 and specifically from Cairo
to El Gassim

The November 2013 timetable shows the following segments
From Alexandria
Alexandria-Yanbu, Alexandria-Gassim and Alexandria-Jeddah.
From Cairo
Cairo-Gassim, Cairo-Taif, Cairo-Tabuk and Cairo- Yanbu
In 2014 a 3-weekly flight
Alexandria-Kuwait was launched. Total flights from both Alexandria and Cairo grew to 34 flights weekly

In 2015 , the company
launches flights to Hofuf and Port Sudan (June 2015) as well as to to Baghdad
and to Al Jouf (Aug 2015)
In 2016 major expansion of the company with Basra is added to network with a weekly flight
from Cairo, Sharm el Sheikh , Hurghada, Luxor, Aswan , Istanbul , El Ain , Abha,
and Gizan joins the network in 2016.
Riyadh ,Tabuk and Amman are linked to Sharm El Sheikh
During 2017 a 3 weekly flights was launched to Hail
The last 2 years , the company has entered a restructuring program where
many destinations and routes were cut
: Port-Sudan, Amman, Amman, Abha,
Hofuf, Basra, Luxor and Baghdad and the
secondary hub of Alexandria closed.
