AVELO AIRLINES

 

 

AVELO is not a stranger to the world of aviation. It operated previously as CASINO EXPRESS AIRLINES (founded in 1987) flying exclusively for the Red Lion Hotel and Resort in Elko Nevada with a fleet of Boeing 737-200 .

It operated  one of its B737-200 to fund the purchase of  the short-lived TAHOE AIR in 1999 (July to October 1999)

CASINO EXPRESS expanded its customer base to include sports teams, government agencies etc...by offering an increased number of public and private charters and was renamed XTRA AIRWAYS in 2015

 On March 1, 2018, the business along with all but one of its airplanes was acquired by Swift Air LLC. Xtra suspended operations at the end of May. In order to facilitate the sale of its FAA and DOT certificates, it resumed operations in June 2019, operating subservices for Swift Air and Cayman Airways as well as sports charters. In August 2018 the airline was purchased by an investor group, headed by Andrew Levy, co-founder of Allegiant Airwith the intent of transforming the charter airline into a scheduled ultra -low cost airline. The new company rasised $125 M to finance its purchase of B737-800 .  On April 8.2021 the company was baptized AVELO AIRLINES  and started operations on April 28.2021 between Burbank and Santa Rosa

REVIEW OF QRT 1 2021 OPERATIONS

The company launched from Burbank to Santa Rosa, Bozeman and Pasco in April, The netwark was soon expanded to include Eureka, Grand Junction,Redding,Medford, Redmond , Phoenix (Mesa)and Ogden.Avelo manages to carry 75000 passengers in its first quarter of operations,

 

 

 

 

 

 

REVIEW OF QRT 2 2021 OPERATIONS

Flights to Phoenix and Grand Junction are dropped but the company manages to increase its passenger traffic by 47.3% and its load factor by 12 points.A  new route from Las Vegas toSanta Rosa was launched in September

REVIEW OF QRT 3 2021 OPERATIONS

 Avelo announced on May 6, 2021, that it would open a new base at Tweed New Haven Airport  in Connecticut to serve the Florida narket during the third quarter of 2021 investing in the process $1.2 Mio at the airport's facilities.

Flights began with a fleet of Boeing 737-700 in November 2021 to Orlando,Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa and  epanding to include by the end of the year and Weat Palm Beach.

In the CA market, flights were launched to Fort Collins  to Las Vegas from Eureka in November. Fort Collins-Las Vgas joined the network on addition to Tucson from Burbank in December.

The company introduces the Boeing 737-700 on its services from is new hub and accounts for 52.6% of Available seat miles and 61% of Revenue Passenger Mile

New Haven hub accounted for 29.4% of December 2021 traffic 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 REVIEW OF QRT 4 2021 OPERATIONS

The company reaches its peak in the last quarter of its first year of operationn with passengers carried increasing  by 32.7%.New Haven's hub now accounts for 46% of all traffic.

the market share of the B737-700 reached 52.6% of total ASM , whereas load factor amunted to 86.9% compared to 61.7% for the B737-800

FINANCIAL RESULTS

As expected the company did not declare any profit for 2021 , the expenses were 17% hher than the revenues
