Continuing with its tradition to its readers, likers and fans in wishing them a good month with a timetable. Taking into account the cold winter,  we make a sunny tribute to HAWAIIAN AIRLINES Timetable published exactly 55 years ago

Known as Inter Island airways until October 1 , 1941 when it took its present name, the airline operated with flying/amphibian boats such as the Sikorsky S38

  Its first true land plane (the DC3) was introduced in August 1941 few months before the coward attack of the Japanese on Pearl Harbor. The introduction of the DC3 heralded the steady withdrawal of the company's flying boats . The dc3 will be in operation with the company until November 1968. The dc3 were also fitted  with larger windows known as vista windows

for sightseeing purposes and HA operated twice a week, flight HA 9, a 3-hour flight encompassing 5 islands.


More modern equipment will be introduced in 1952 with the Convair 340 and the Convair 440

which will converted to turbine powered  Convair 640 in the mid sixties.

The Convairs will stay with the company until 1972 and the last frame will leave the company in 1974.
The map below illustrates fully the operations of the company in this day of the Lord February 1, 1960, serving 10 island destinations with a network length of 1864 km
