KENYA AIRWAYS BOEING 707 OPERATIONS IN THE 70S

KENYA AIRWAYS

KENYA AIRWAYS saw the light of the day in January 1977 after the dissolution of East African Airways following the break-up of the East African Community.
The new company will rush to establish the links previously operated by East African Airways by leasing a couple of B707 from British Middland .
The aircraft will be deployed on the services to Europe and to the India sub-continent as evidenced by the table and maps below.
The company will acquire 3 Boeing 707 from Northwest Airlines (see table at the end of the post)
The timetable of the company dated May 1977 shows the following schedules :

Left  1977 European 707 network- Right  1977 Africa , Pakistan and India B 707 network

At the end of the decade , Kenya Airways will expand its operations to include Jeddah, Khartoum , Accra and Lagos providing a much needed link between India and West Africa. The delivery of a Boeing 720 in May 1978 would allow this expansion to occur.
The last timetable of the decade
