EMIRATES AIRLINES 20 YEARS AGO
2O years ago Emirates Airlines was not the behemoth airline we know today, it was one of the fastest growing airlines in the world and has managed to turn Dubai , an airport used by European and Asian Airlines as a stop between Europe and Asia and Europe and Australia, into one of the largest transfer hubs in the world.
In the beginning, there was a political will by the ruling family of Dubai to create an airline independent from government subsidies and to fill the void left by Gulf Air as this later was reducing its services from the emirate.
The company was initially founded with a capital of USD 10,000,000 from the royal family and PIA jumped to help the fledging airline by leasing a Boeing 737-300 and an Airbus s A300-b4 and by helping the management of the new born airline .The Royal Dubai Air wing provided with 2 Boeing 727-200.
During the period studied, the company operated to 37 destinations and has a total network length of 117,061 km of unduplicated route with a fleet of 8 Airbus A310 and 8 Airbus A300 (more on the fleet further down in this post)

All flights are operated exclusively by the Airbus A310
