The Amiri decree dated February 3, 2003 established Air Arabia as the first LCC in the Middle East. The Airline is based in Sharjah some 15 km from the center of Dubai . First flights began on October 28,2003 to Bahrain with a fleet of Airbus A320 seating 168 passengers in an all economy layout.
The timetable dated May 1,2004,
found on the company's website shows the following destinations : Aleppo, Asyut, Alexandria, Beirut, Colombo , Damascus, Doha ,Muscat, Khartoum ,Kuwait , Shiraz and Teheran offering 52 flights and 8736 seats a week from Sharjah but according to the company's website flights to Iran were discontinued in e 2004. The company will expand rapidly adding in both destinations and fleet size .

Air Arabia consists of a group of airlines and companies offering travel and tourism services across the Middle East and North Africa
In November 2019 on the Dubai Air Show the airline announced its order of 120 aircraft comprising 73 A320neos, 27 A321neos and 20 A321XLRs with deliveries from 2024 enabling the company to launch long hall routes.
Air Arabia has 3 hubs, the biggest in Sharjah, the other in Abu Dhabi and the last one ,Ras El Khaymah which designation as a hub has not been yet extended and ends in 2024. Air Arabia started its operations there in 2014 after the bankruptcy of RAK Airways. Flights to Pakistan (PEW ,LHE and ISB), Egypt (CAI) and India (CCJ) are effected.

By far the greatest hub of the company, 47 aircraft are allocated there, 41 A320 in 168Y configuration and 6 A321 in 215Y configuration

AIR ARABIA ABU DHABI
Abu Dhabi hub was launched in 2020 after Air Arabia Abu Dhabi was created in 2019 as a joint venture between Etihad Airways and Air Arabia to funnel passengers into Etihad's hub and to allow traffic into thinner routes better served by smaller aircraft and lower frequencies. ts main competitor is WIZZ AIR ABU DHABI

The company was established in 2010, it secured its license on 22/05/2010 and began operation on 01/06/2010. The company has a limited network radiating from its Alexandria hub to JED, RUH,SHJ, BGY, MED will be cancelled in November 2024. AMM the newest destination is set to begin on June 4, 2024.

FLY ARN
The joint venture between Air Arabia and the Armenian government has ceased operations in January 2024 and its license revoked in March of 2024.
FLY ARABIA MOROCCO
It is a partnership between AIR ARAIA, REGIONAL AIRLINES and ITHMAR BANK. The carrier was officially launched on 29 April 2009, and started operations on 6 May the same year, with its maiden flight Casablanca - London (STN) route

FLY YETI
Fly Yeti was founded in 2007 as Nepal's first low-cost carrier and commenced operations on 20 January 2008. However, Fly Yeti ceased operations on 16 July 2008 due to political uncertainty in Nepal.
