SUDAN AIRWAYS BOEING 707 OPERATIONS IN THE 70s
As the Comets were becoming obsolete and expensive to operate, coupled with the need for further expansion , the company turned to Boeing and ordered 2 Boeing 707 in 1973 .
ST-AFA Boeing 707-358C (cn885) "Blue Nile"was delivered on June 17 1974 and ST-AFB (cn 887) "White Nile"was delivered on July 10, 1974.

Until the delivery of its own aircraft , Sudan Airways leased a number of frames from various operators ( see table below)
The timetable dated November 1 1973 shows us the operations of the 707s that were leased from various sources.

The delivery of 2 Boeing 737-200 in September 1975 will allow the company to shift some of its 707 operations to the newly delivered aircraft (e.g to Addis Abeba) as evidenced by the summer 1976 timetable Frankfurt becomes a new destination , both Beirut (due to the ongoing civil unrest) and Asmara are dropped .

The operations will not change fundamentally until the end of the decade , however political instability will soon surface rendering the operations of the company hazardous and dangerous.
