The company was established in 2005 by ex Olympic Airlines managers Mr. Miltiadis Tangarakis (CEO of Olympic Airlines) and George Mavroantonaki (COO of Olympic Airlines) and is known officially as Cretan Aeronauticals Exploitation (Κρητικές Αεροπορικές Εκμεταλλεύσεις).
The company concentrated at first its activities on charter , cargo and ambulance fligts as well as air-taxi and sight seeing.
The major hub of the company is at Heraklion Nikos Kazantazakis airport and operates a fleet of 2 ATR42-300 3 ATR42-500 (SX-GRI was named Nissos Karpathos-Island of Karpathos) and 3 BAe Jetstream J41

The company serves 23 destinations in Greece and was instrumental in developping inter-island hops as well as new routes with thinner traffic that were disregarded by Aegean Airlines and Olympic.
